The puzzle hunt will begin on November 01 at 5 PM EST and end on November 01 at 5 PM EST.
Teams may have up to four people. All participants must be girls or non-binary students affected by (trans)misogyny.
The puzzle hunt will have about 20 puzzles. Not all puzzles will be available at the start of the hunt -- puzzles will unlock for teams over the course of the hunt.
All answers consist only of letters and are not case-sensitive. All non-letter characters, including spaces, will be stripped from answer submissions before they are checked.
There are no limits on guesses for this puzzle hunt. Feel free to guess away!
There will be hints! Information on hints will be released at a future time.
Ranking and Divisions
Teams that complete the puzzle hunt will be ranked by the time they complete the hunt (i.e. solve the final puzzle for their division). Teams that do not solve the final puzzle will be ranked by number of points.
There will be three divisions: middle school (8th grade and below), high school (12th grade and below), and open.
Teams should play in the division of the oldest person on the team. For example, a team with three middle schoolers and one high schooler should play in the high school division.
Each team will be limited to at most one guess per five seconds and ten guesses per minute to prevent server overload.
You may not write any code that attempts to interact with the backend of the hunt website to solve the puzzles. Your team may be disqualified if we detect such an attempt during the competition.
While the puzzle hunt is ongoing, do not disclose any information about the content, format, or structure of the puzzle hunt to anyone who is participating or may participate in the puzzle hunt. Violation of this rule may get you disqualified from the competition.
This includes asking questions about the puzzles on social media or Internet forums.
We may leave notes [in brackets] in puzzles. Those notes are not part of the puzzle.
We reserve the right to disqualify any team, at any time, for any reason. So don’t get on our bad side :)
We reserve the right to change these rules at any time, for any reason. We will try our best to communicate large rules changes to the teams.
